چکیده

In this paper, we focus on mobility management and its deployment issues. There are many proposed mobility management mechanisms. However, the deployment of such mobility management has been facing difficulties and it is slower than it is initially expected. Therefore, we argue the issues to boost the deployment process. We especially focus on the end-toend approach, which can be mainly achieved by higher-layer implementation. With the end-to-end mobility management approach, we can explicitly separate the concept of session management and location management. Making use of this property of the end-to-end approach, we introduce a two-phase deployment scheme, which intends to avoid the use of static global address and the involvement of the multiple administrative domains to assist the personal use.

End-to-End Mobility Support in IPv6 Using Peer-to-Peer Technologies

Despite voluminous mobility solutions that have been proposed in the past, none of them have been widely deployed today. To address the deployment difficulty in previous work, we propose an end-system based mobility management scheme in IPv6 (EMIPv6) for Internet hosts. In our design, we leverage distributed hash table-based peer-topeer systems to carry out scalable, robust and self-organizing ...

A unified MIPv6 and PMIPv6 route optimization scheme for heterogeneous mobility management domains

Nowadays more and more wireless users are on move while accessing the Internet, and providing mobility support in IP networks has been a long-standing challenge. Client-based Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) is the most widely known mobility management scheme, and fast emerging Proxy-based Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) scheme offers an alternative. However, some inherent problems such as route optimization in these ...

Multilayered Mobility Management for Survivable Network

A variety of mobility management scheme have been developed for commercial networks ranging from Mobile IP (network layer support), to the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) based on application layer components such as DNS and SMTP, and Micro-Mobility approaches like Cellular IP, HAWAII. There are significant challenges, however, with regard to the robustness, management overhead requirements a...

Introduction Use of portable devices (e.g. laptops, handheld computers, and cellular phones) to access Internet is becoming more and more common nowadays. These portable devices have introduced the need of high degree of mobility on the Internet. Internet, in its current form, was never designed to support mobility. To achieve transparent host mobility on the Internet, researchers around the wo...
